Neonatal Intensive Care

Medisun Çayyolu Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serves babies in need of intensive care. Our unit provides 24-hour service with its strong medical staff, specially trained nurses and technical equipment in the field of neonatology, and provides the necessary facilities for informing and educating families.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides 2nd step intensive care services with 14 beds and 1 isolation bed. Our unit has 15 incubators and monitoring, 2 open beds with radiant heaters, 1 transport incubator with ventilator, 4 mechanical ventilators, 3 LED light phototherapy, 1 tunnel phototherapy device, portable x-ray device.
Services we can provide in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit;

Level 1 Intensive Care:

• Those who cannot maintain body temperature
• Late preemies, those with difficulty in breastfeeding
• Those whose hypoglycemia does not improve with enteral nutrition
• Those who need or are likely to need phototherapy
• Free flow for up to 24 hours Those who receive oxygen and need to be monitored with a monitor or pulse oximeter

Level 2 Intensive Care:

• Those between 1500-2500 g who cannot maintain body temperature, have hypoglycemia or cannot be fed orally
• >2500 g with persistent hypoglycemia for >24 hours or O₂ those receiving treatment
• >1500 g and require oxygen for >24 hours or require nasal respiratory support
• >2500 g and undergoing central venous catheterization or minor surgical intervention
• >1500 g and undergoing exchange transfusion or receiving IVIG therapy
• Those treated for arrhythmia
• Those with infections, congenital anomalies, system diseases, provided that they are not very severe

 Level 3 Intensive Care:

• All newborns <1500 g
• Infants with two or more organ dysfunctions requiring circulatory support
• Those in need of invasive mechanical ventilation
• Between 1500-2500 g and undergoing central venous catheterization or minor surgical intervention
• Those on peritoneal dialysis or hemofiltration
• Hypothermia treatment application
• Retinopathy examination and treatment
• Those who need a thoracic tube
• Echocardiography examination

In addition to babies born in our hospital, our unit also provides health care services to newborn babies born in foreign centers and in need of intensive care. For this purpose, services are provided in cooperation with air and land ambulance systems. We care not only about the physical health of our babies, but also their mental, emotional and developmental well-being. We support the secure attachment of mother and baby and the formation of mother-father identities. We start strengthening the well-being of future generations from their first days.
